Lauren M. Walton, MD, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, is an Addiction Psychiatrist currently in practice with Southern California Permanente Medical Group. A 1996 graduate of the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, she subsequently completed a Psychiatric Residency Program at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, PA, and served as Chief Resident from 1999-2000. Dr. Walton is Board Certified by both the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Addiction Medicine. She is a Fellow of both the American Psychiatric Association and the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

A dedicated professional with a commitment to excellence and quality in mental health care, Dr. Walton is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2005 Physicians’ Choice Award for excellence in service from her peers at Kaiser Permanente. She was named one of “America’s Top Psychiatrists” from the Consumers’ Research Council of America in 2002-2003 and again in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2012, she was the recipient of the Physicians' Exceptional Contribution Award, the highest award bestowed upon Kaiser Permanente Physicians.

Her professional memberships include the American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Association,Southern California Psychiatric Society, American Board of Addiction Medicine, American Society of Addiction Medicine, and the California Society of Addiction Medicine.

An active member of the community, Dr. Walton is a member of the Second Baptist Church of Los Angeles, a charter member of the Board of Directors for Forgiving for Living, Inc. and is the Immediate Past Board President for the Greater Los Angeles/Central Coast Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
